From December 19th to 21st, 2025, the Second International Symposium on Intelligent Manufacturing and Automation (ISIMA 2025) was organized under the guidance of the Intelligent Manufacturing System Committee of the Chinese Association of Automation, the Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Branch of the Guangdong Mechanical Engineering Society, and the Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Branch of the Guangdong Automation Society. It was hosted by Guangzhou Maritime University and the Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Sciences. The symposium was co-organized by the Guangdong Branch of Intelligent Manufacturing System, Guangzhou University, Foshan University, the Journal of Automation and Information Engineering, and AEIC Academic Exchange Center. The conference attracted over 100 experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions to attend and exchange ideas. They discussed the latest research hotspots and innovative achievements in the field, providing new perspectives and inspirations for future research and practice.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Li Weiguang, the dean of the Intelligent Manufacturing College of Guangzhou Maritime University. He expressed gratitude to all the participants for their strong support for the conference. Subsequently, Chen Jianping, the vice president of Guangzhou Maritime University, delivered a speech for the conference, warmly welcoming all the experts and scholars and hoping that the participating experts could fully exchange the latest research results and explore more cooperation possibilities. Finally, sincere thanks were extended to the guests who came from afar, and the conference was expected to achieve fruitful results.

The conference also set up a forum for young scholars' presentations. Young scholars from multiple universities such as South China University of Technology, Dalian University of Technology, and Shanghai Maritime University gave presentations, shared their findings, or displayed posters. The conference selected 2 scholars who received outstanding papers, aiming to provide a platform for young researchers in the field to showcase and exchange ideas, and to recognize and encourage the sharing and dissemination of innovative research results.
The conference specially set up enterprise booths, and each participating company actively showcased its latest technologies and research and development achievements. The enterprise booth not only serves as an important window for enterprises to showcase their strength and promote their products, but also builds an efficient platform for supply and demand matching and technical exchange for all parties involved in industry, academia and research.

With this, the meeting came to a successful conclusion. In the future, the conference will continue to focus on cutting-edge fields such as mechanical engineering and automation, explore opportunities and challenges in both academia and industry, and be committed to promoting the development of related research and applications, advancing the discipline and facilitating talent cultivation.
